Meet K-9 Chase
K-9 Chase, a Belgian Malinois, was born in August 2022 in Poland and later brought to the United States to undergo specialized training at Shallow Creek Kennels in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania.
K-9 Chase was acquired through a generous grant from the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office, led by District Attorney Steven Zappala.
He is proudly partnered with Officer Steve Shawley and is certified as a dual-purpose utility police dog through the North American Police Work Dog Association. This certification means that K-9 Chase is trained not only to detect the odor of certain narcotics but also to assist in tracking individuals and performing a variety of essential law enforcement duties.
When he’s off-duty, K-9 Chase enjoys relaxing at home with his family—and can almost always be found playing enthusiastically with his favorite toys.
