Have you been told to go to a Bitcoin ATM? Stop right there — it’s a scam.

Scammers are getting creative, but here’s the truth:

• There is no legitimate reason for someone to ask you to send money through a Bitcoin ATM.

• No one from the government will ever tell you to pay them this way.

• If someone claims you owe money or need to pay a fine using Bitcoin — it’s a red flag.
